'It is easy to miss the presence of Christ when we have already decided what he should look like. If we expect Jesus only in the places of power, we will not see him among the poor .' - Revd Dr Simon Woodman

In today's sermon from Bloomsbury, Luke Dowding invites us to see Jesus in lives lived at rest in God, rather than in the busy-ness of our own efforts.
He says, 'Self care is becoming one of those frequently battered-about expressions... and I think that's why many of us struggle with the idea of looking after ourselves. It seems indulgent, even gluttonous, to actually enjoy life. There is something in the way that many of us are wired that tells us that taking time to look after ourselves, to take rest seriously, is weak; and if we are not doing, then who are we being. I believe we have been actively challenged by God to actively seek rest.'
