Giving it up for Lent

"Can we give up our addictions to money, power, and status? Can we give away our false estimations of our value? Can we move beyond striving to be good, into a place where we goodness flows from us, not because of the good we endeavour to achieve in the world, because we have learned to place the weak and the vulnerable at the centre of our value system?"
